When I first started building tiny homes, I spent a lot of time searching for the right tiny house building course. Of course, I wanted something that would guide me through the technical aspects — like carpentry, plumbing, and electrical systems. But I was also hoping to incorporate my personal tastes and preferences into the build.
What I found were rigid, one-size-fits-all programs that treated every tiny home the same. All the plans felt fixed and generic, and none gave me the ability to ask questions, get hands-on guidance, or incorporate my personal preferences.
So, here at The Tiny Life, we do things a little differently.
Tiny Life courses are constructed to mirror real-world builds. They’re dynamic and adapt with your build. Instead of a passive participant, you’ll be firmly planted in the driver’s seat, turning my hard-earned experience and insight into your real, actionable progress.

Hi, I’m Ryan
I’ve taken my fair share of tiny house courses. Some were better than others, but all of them had the same problem. Once the lesson ended, so did the support. I found myself wishing for a community of serious tiny home builders to learn from, troubleshoot with, and grow alongside.

Who Are The Tiny House Courses For?
My tiny house building courses are for everyone that wants to build a tiny home, and I offer courses that cater to both beginners and experienced builders alike. I also know that not everyone is in the same stage of the building process. Some folks may have already broken ground, while others might be working from little more than an idea.
My tiny house courses are designed to bridge this experience gap through practical strategies, construction tips, and expert insights that save you time and money. Consider these courses as an investment that will help you steer clear of costly missteps and revisions. Even if you’re already familiar with the subject material, you’ll likely pick up some new insights along the way.
It’s also worth noting that The Tiny Life Membership Community works in tandem with the tiny house courses by expanding on the topics covered through exclusive content and community as well as expert support. And because members help decide which subjects are covered, The Tiny Life
Membership Community offers valuable insight for beginners, experienced builders, and everyone in between.
What You Learn In The Tiny House Courses
Even after you finish a tiny home build, the work doesn’t end. Pipes rust and wear down, foundations crack, and insulation will eventually need to be replaced. The courses cover a lot of information, but I’m acutely aware of how big a role pacing plays. Trying to learn or build everything at once can lead to burnout and information overload — but on the other hand, every single part of a build is inherently related. Your electricity capacity determines which HVAC system and water heaters you can use, and the windows you pick will directly impact your heating and insulation needs.
For this reason, I focus on teaching underlying principles. Learning the reasoning behind specific choices is infinitely more useful than simply being told what choice to make. Over time, that deeper comprehension will allow you to extract even more value out of each tiny house online course you take.
What Makes The Tiny Life Community Different
Most of the tiny house courses out there cover the initial installation and send you on your way. But what happens when an emergency comes up? When that newly set-up toilet backs up, or your grid goes out in the middle of winter?
Unlike the one-and-done tiny house online courses, this membership serves as an ongoing course that prioritizes continual learning and growth through a suite of constantly evolving webinars, interviews, forums, and exclusive content.
The Tiny Life Membership Community reflects that dynamism, by offering compounding value over time.
As you learn more about building tiny homes, the nature and scope of your questions will evolve. It’s the difference between setting up a basic space heater and designing a cost-effective, high-performance HVAC setup from scratch. In other words, the more informed your questions are, the more value you’ll get from every resource and conversation you engage with.
The Tiny Life Community: For When Things Go Off Script
The tiny house courses and membership community allow you to learn at your own pace by providing real-time, personalized feedback that meets you where you’re at. So, even if your build stalls, changes, or takes longer than initially planned, you’ll still get the help you need.
Building a tiny home isn’t always a neat, step-by-step process, and I know how frustrating it is when something unexpected takes you off course.
So, you can rest assured knowing that you’ll have a trusted community to guide you through not just the installations, but the repairs, maintenance, and upgrades that come up later down the line.
How The Tiny Life Courses Can Save You Money
I don’t know if you’ve ever heard of the expression “measure twice, cut once,” but it exists for a reason. Repairing a plumbing, construction, or wiring mistake can easily cost thousands of dollars more than the initial installation. These tiny house courses pay for themselves by helping you avoid common mistakes. And keep in mind that the savings don’t stop there.
A lot of people underestimate just how much money inefficient systems waste. Excessive power usage, ineffective insulation, and poor water management can all send your monthly expenses through the roof. The good news is that this is completely avoidable.
My goal is to make sure that every member gets more out of their tiny house building courses than they put into them. So, in addition to having a built-in community to problem-solve, pool resources, and network with, you’ll also have the expert guidance and support you need to get things right: the first time.
Why Tiny House Education Doesn’t End After Move-In
As important as the initial build is, I think it’s essential to address what comes after the construction is all said and done. For some folks, that may involve growing crops and raising livestock. For others, it might center around turning your homesteading ventures into a business. I know that the end of a build signifies the beginning of a new life, which is why The Tiny Life also covers topics like:
The Tiny Life Membership Topics Include
- Gardening
- Food preservation
- Storage
- Animal husbandry
- Cleaning tips
- Maintenance
- Solar Power and more

Don’t forget, you aren’t just building a regular house: you’re building a tiny home. Going tiny often requires lifestyle changes — because with such limited square footage, every item, routine, and habit you bring into your new home has to be intentional. These changes can be hard to deal with, especially if you’re going about it on your own.
That’s why the post move-in tiny home support provided by The Tiny Life Membership Community goes beyond the typical tiny house building courses. You’ll learn how to develop routines and habits that make life in a tiny home comfortable, efficient, and — most importantly — enjoyable.
Many tiny house courses assume that your questions will come at the very start of your build, but in my experience, the opposite is true. Each decision spawns a dozen more questions. Systems, layouts, and design choices tend to change the more you work on them. So, I didn’t create The Tiny Life Membership Community just to help you build a tiny home. I made it to give you the tools, experience, and confidence you need to keep moving forward.
Your Turn!
- If you could build your ideal tiny house online course, which subjects would you most like to see covered?
