The city of Grand Forks, North Dakota, is getting closer to fully legalizing tiny homes. At a meeting in September of 2019, the Grand Forks city planner discussed possible regulations for the homes, including how many people can live in one and how many can be built in the city.
This proposition was brought up by Cody Bartholomew, a mechanical engineer with a passion for the tiny house movement. Cody claimed he could fit four homes of about 785 square feet each on a single 100-by-140-foot lot.
The homes would share a communal area with possibly a fire pit and each would have a single-stall garage. Approval of this tiny house community is still in the air.
