The Tiny Life is growing and with it, its staff. The Tiny Life has been around for over six years and wants to continue to serve its readers by providing high quality content that inspires, informs and builds the tiny house community. Below is the job description and below that is the application.

Title: Video Producer

Part/Full Time: Part time, 30-40 hours per week



This person will be responsible for the execution of video and motion graphics content creation for a variety of projects. Videos will be developed for The Tiny Life, Tiny House Conference, and other associated projects for posting on our websites and social media outlets.


  • Identify strategic opportunities to leverage video at The Tiny Life
  • Develop concepts, identify talent/stories and manage full production cycle
  • Capture video footage, quality sound and create motion graphics
  • Edit and master audio and video files into compelling and engaging videos
  • Develop, produce and promote videos using video footage and motion graphics
  • Post videos to YouTube and our website with proper SEO techniques and optimization
  • Analyze work and market for trends and opportunities
  • Develop revenue streams through content, events, and sponsorships
  • Ensure files are properly archived, filed and backed up
  • Assist with building traffic and executing directed conversion strategy
  • Assist with delivering a high level of customer service
  • Perform clerical and admin tasks as assigned
  • Other tasks as assigned

Technical Skills

  • Able to effectively use video camera, audio equipment, lighting and other video production skills
  • Proficient in the creation of motion graphics with Adobe Illustrator and After Effects
  • Skilled at lighting techniques
  • Mastery of audio design, capture and editing in multiple settings
  • Proficient in Adobe Premiere, Audition, After Effects, and Audacity
  • Interviewing: structure and conduct engaging discussions by developing connection
  • Experienced in developing story lines, video narratives and utilizing composition to tell a story
  • Able to create engaging content that readers connect with
  • Ability to develop personal connection with stakeholders
  • Design/edit basic graphics in Photoshop and/or Illustrator
  • Implement and monitor metrics to refine website, and strategies
  • Be willing to do administrative tasks, e.g. transcription, research, cold calls, emailing, data entry
