Clever Space Saving Ideas For Small Spaces

The great thing about Pinterest is all the really neat things you find on there, the not so great is you emerge several hours later feeling like only a few minutes have passed.  I found these during my browsing and thought I’d share with you all.  I have created a Pinterest Board here.  Show me your awesome Tiny House and Small Space Pinterest Boards by sharing a link in the comments section!

Ecomatic – Sink Dishwasher

So one thing that I have often wondered about living in a Tiny House is if I will miss a dishwasher.  Now it is not for the reasons you think.  While convenience is a nice plus, the big thing for me is that it uses such hot water to clean, helps sterilize.  I am a bit of a germ freak when it comes to the kitchen, especially with raw meat.  Today I found what looks like to be a possibility from Electrolux.  This is a sink and dishwasher in one.  While it only has a limited capacity, it will certainly help out.  It also uses some green technologies to help reduce water consumption and power consumption.

Compact Loft Bed

I found this loft bed with an office below it. This certainly isn’t anything new, but what I really did like about it is that it incorporates steps and a little walkway behind it. One think I really don’t like about lofted/bunk beds is that they can be a bit awkward to get into. It certainly was fun to climb a ladder when I was 10, but now I just can’t get that into it. I would think that this is a much better way. The designers have also done a great job with the integration of storage into the stairs and with the different models (a desk and a closet).

More Stairs

A friend of mine pointed out this website with some more stair designs.

Staircase Shelving

So I have been harping on a particular mantra of tiny space organization and design, that being: maximize the vertical.  If you are new here the basic jist is if you surrender a square foot of floor space for storage, maximize the use of that by taking the storage all the way to the top of the room.

One of the issues with this is of course if you have tall ceilings you can run into the issue of not being able to reach it.  With this innovative concept you are able to remedy this issue, cut out any need for a ladder and bring multifunction into the space.

So check this out…..
