Here in North Carolina we are starting to get little tastes of spring, last week we had a few inches of snow and then two days later it was 74 degrees outside! With the warming of the seasons I can’t but help thinking about the beach, so I thought this would be a neat small house to show you all. This is actually a rental that you can go stay at, located in the UK, Bembridge, Isle of Wright.
Today I found this house built in Chile by Alvaro Ramirez and Clarissa Elton. It is about 500 square feet and has an amazing view and emphasizes outdoor living through it opening window walls and a deck that is almost as big as the indoor space. It is heated with a wood burning stove, was built in 3 months and cost $15,000 USD to build. The house is divided into two sections divided by patio space, a sleeping area with bed and bathroom, then the other side is a living space with couches, kitchen and table.
I was sent these by a reader who pointed out some Tiny Houses -almost- in my backyard. The cottages are designed to be affordable vacation homes near the beach. Starting at $200k for 720 square feet, they have done a good job of packing in most of the amenities, though I do wonder about the quality of the build. Holding houses to Jay’s Tumbleweed House as the standard might not be fair, but his build is impeccable. The exterior of these houses are very appealing, with fun colors, it feels like the beach for sure.
