Tiny House, Tiny Living, The Tiny Life.

Cliff Top House

Today I found this house built in Chile by Alvaro Ramirez and Clarissa Elton.  It is about 500 square feet and has an amazing view and emphasizes outdoor living through it opening window walls and a deck that is almost as big as the indoor space.  It is heated with a wood burning stove, was built in 3 months and cost $15,000 USD to build.  The house is divided into two sections divided by patio space, a sleeping area with bed and bathroom, then the other side is a living space with couches, kitchen and table.

  1. This is easily the most beautiful house I’ve ever seen. Just, wow.

  2. Wowza, what a view! This is the first house I’ve seen that makes me want to try living in something smaller than my 740sq. ft. house!

  3. Wow! I love that house. I agree with Candi. I live in a small house (approx 750 sq ft), but I’d be happy to give it up and move to Chile and live in the tiny cliff house.

  4. Simply beautiful! (Yeah, I know)
What material is on the roof?

  5. You said the cost was $15,000 USD to build in Chile. What would it have cost to build in the U.S. if the price was adjusted to reflect building construction costs here?

    • I am sure about two to three times more because of labor costs and codes. that is just a guess though.

  6. I am in love. One question though – is there never a need for heat in the sleeping area?

  7. Possibly, the most beautiful tiny house Ive ever seen. I love it.

  8. WOW, great for holidays, but to live there-every day?? Where to put your luggage? and… best is the view ;-)

  9. Cool so its a beachy / dog trot style home.

    Like it!!

  10. well, i really hate this because it makes me feel totally jealous. it’s my problem. i’ll deal with it.

  11. The simplicity of the design, the outdoor space and the VIEW make this one of the most beautiful homes I’ve ever seen.

  12. WOW! I agree with LouLou in France. I love this house & when I need a moment of zen I will visualize it. Thanks for sharing.

  13. Beautiful!! utterly dramatic views and setting!

    Some kinda boring questions:

Just wondering if it was built to any earthquake code standards?

Also is it totally isolated? or is it near a town or community?

Are there utility services available such as electricity, phone, internet, water etc.?

  14. I think this design is the same or similar to one I saw in a DIY Japanese book. I don’t remember the exact title, but it was something like, “If you can afford a car, you can afford to build a house.” ideal isn’t it!

  15. Wonderful….

Who could build this for me in West Point, Ga. At 3 times the cost if this beauty? Ready to begin construction.

  16. Are house plans available?

  17. Love love love! Stayed in Canoe Bays The Escape in Chetek, WI in March 2014. A dream and loved it BUT mucho dinero.
