I remember the moment I knew tiny houses were right for me: when I first got to see a tiny house in person. You see these amazing photos and great video tours online, but nothing compares to walking into a tiny house in real life.
The best part of running the Tiny House Conference is seeing that look on hundreds of faces as our community comes together to tour a ton of tiny houses in person. The feeling of seeing so many houses is pretty magical.
Each year we have a lot of houses at the Conference. This year we’ve confirmed 8 houses with many more soon to be added. With each of these houses we have their builder/owners on hand to answer all your questions. Since each house is as unique as its owner, you get to see a huge variety to help you figure out what works and what doesn’t work for you as you design your own tiny house.
Today we’re introducing one of our speakers for the 2016 Tiny House Conference: Zack Jones. Zack has helped us out at our 2014 and 2015 conferences, and we’re so excited to have him on board as a speaker for this year. Zack is the mastermind behind Project Wosho, a tiny house design company. He’ll be teaching you the basics of designing a 3D digital tiny house plan in our Hands On with SketchUp session. Thanks Zack for lending us your talents for the the third year in a row!
We’re excited about two of our new speakers for the 2016 Tiny House Conference: Jody and Bill Brady! Jody and Bill came to our very first Tiny House Conference two years ago in Charlotte. The conference armed them with the tools they needed to build their own tiny house, which you can read about on their blog. They’ll be talking about how to budget and save for a tiny house, as well as how to use a composting toilet system. Thanks Jody and Bill for coming on board with us as speakers this year!
Today, we’d like to introduce Lina Menard, one of our speakers for the upcoming 2016 Tiny House Conference. This is the third year in a row Lina will be speaking at the conference, and we’re excited to have her back. She’ll be giving a talk about Design and Layout, as well as facilitating our Open Space discussion forum. Lina writes at This Is The Little Life and owns and operates Niche Consulting LLC.
In today’s post, we’re introducing two of our returning speakers for the 2016 Tiny House Conference. You probably already recognize Laura LaVoie, the force behind 120SquareFeet.com, and her partner Matt. This year, the dynamic duo will be delivering two speaker sessions: Finding Land, and Off-Grid Living. They combine real-life wisdom with their trademark humorous speaking style (which you can catch a glimpse of in the videos below). Their sessions are definitely not to be missed.
